Dr. Jessy Stenross, Co-founder

Born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Dr. Jessy knew she wanted to be a Veterinarian from the age of 9 years old.  She received a B.S. in Zoology from Michigan State University and then returned to Michigan State University for her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine where she was honored as the recipient of the Dr. Robert B. Ziegler Caring Award, an honor awarded to her by her fellow classmates. Following completion of veterinary school in 2011, Dr. Jessy completed a year long small animal medicine and surgery internship at Nashville Veterinary Specialists in Nashville, TN. She has been working as a general practitioner in Minneapolis since 2012. Dr. Jessy enjoys so many aspects of veterinary medicine with a special interest in caring for geriatric patients, dentistry, making veterinary care as low stress as possible, and she is very passionate about the human-animal bond.

Dr. Jessy has always known that she wanted to practice house call medicine. Her favorite book growing up was James Herriot’s All Creatures Great and Small which piqued her interest as a young girl of how special it would be to care for animals in the place where they feel the most comfortable, right at home. She loves that every day is different, and that housecalls allow her to connect deeply with her patients and clients, while giving each animal and their family her undivided attention without the busyness of a typical clinic setting.

Dr. Jessy lives with her husband, three sons, and two cats in Minneapolis. Her favorite pastimes include cheering on her kids at their various activities, catching live music or theatre, singing in her rock and roll community choir,  practicing yoga, tending to her garden, and searching for beach glass on the North Shore.
